The Digitalization in Croatia: Drawing from International Experience – Land, Air and Maritime Autonomous Vehicles Regulation conference aims to explore the technological and legal roadmap nexus for the future, where the technological achievements of today create the everyday fact of tomorrow. The Conference seeks to bring together various experts from the autonomous vehicles industry, security industry, insurance industry, regulatory bodies and academia, in order to enable the forum where relevant ideas, issues and solutions are to be discussed and exchanged.
Emergence of semi-autonomous and autonomous vehicles in air, on land and at sea has prompted a new arena of possibilities. The potential for commercial application of such devices has only started to unravel during the past few years, and already the global community recognizes their definitive impact on the life of individuals, industry and society in general. At the same time, the possibilities offered through the new technology are faced with numerous challenges and perils that are continuously resolved and re-generated with each new step in technological achievements.
A steep paste of progress additionally burdens the accompanying industry – the security and insurance industries in particular – to keep up and offer ever-adapting solutions. Even more is expected from the legislative powers that are under a growing pressure to regulate the playing field, ensure the protection of individuals, and offer incentivized regulatory framework to enable and foster the growth of autonomous vehicles industry.
The Conference aims to take an overall snapshot of the technological and legal shifts in the time to come, bind them into a coherent mosaic, and address the relevant issues that this new nexus is faced with.
